About Us

Rwama Farmers Cooperative Society is an agricultural cooperative based in Kirinyaga County, Kenya, specializing in the production and processing of Arabica coffee. It operates three main wet mills (coffee factories)—Muthigi-ini, Kimatu, and Muburi—which support thousands of smallholder farmers in the region.

The society remains being an active participant in the Kenyan coffee sector, undergoing continuous industry reforms and posting competitive coffee cherry payout rates for its members.Its coffees are recognized for quality on the international specialty market and are frequently sourced by global green coffee merchants

About our factories

Muthigi-ini

  • About The factory

    Established in 1968, this wet mill is located in the Njukiini ward in the eastern part of Kirinyaga. It services approximately 1,200 farmers cultivating coffee at altitudes around 1,600 meters above sea level.

Kimatu

  • About The factory

    The newest of the three facilities, Kimatu began its operations in 2021. It is also situated in the Njukiini ward and features modern infrastructure, including an eco-pulper and solar drying tables, serving roughly 800 to 865 local farmers.

Muburi

  • About The factory

    Founded in 1964, it operates as a wet mill and serves as the cooperative's headquarters. It accommodates around 1,200 active members from surrounding villages like Gituga, Kiangoro, Muburi, and Kagukuma
